Investment Trusts
Higher risk than UT or OEIC. IT are pubic limited companies which invest in the shares of other companies to make profits for the benefit of their shareholders.
Unit Trusts, Open-Ended Investment Companies
When you place money in a Unit Trust or OEIC, your contribution is pooled with those of other savers. The net amount is then invested (usually in the Stock Market) by a professional Fund Manager, in accordance with whether that fund should be based on a cautious or more high-risk investment approach.
Unit Trust and OEIC's are often held within an ISA.
